Umlaut Transloading provides rail-truck logistics services at our BNSF Premier facility in Springfield, Missouri. Truck-to-Rail Loading

Product arrives by truck and is loaded into outbound railcars for long-haul movement on BNSF. Particularly cost-effective for high-volume shippers moving product over 500+ miles.

Best for: Manufacturers and distributors looking to reduce trucking costs on high-volume, long-distance lanes.

Truck-to-Truck Transfer

Our yard serves as a transfer point for truck-to-truck moves — changing equipment types, breaking loads, or consolidating shipments without rail involvement.

Best for: Carriers and shippers needing a centrally located transfer point.

Rail-to-Truck Transloading

The most common transloading service — product arrives by rail and is transferred to trucks for regional distribution. Customers use rail for the long-haul and trucks for the last mile. We handle the physical transfer, railcar management, and truck scheduling support.

Best for: Agricultural shippers, manufacturers, distributors receiving bulk or palletized freight by rail and distributing regionally by truck.

Super Sacking & Bag Filling

We transfer bulk product — from railcars or trucks — into super sacks (bulk bags) or smaller packaging for downstream distribution. Our team handles the equipment setup and bag sealing for each product.

Best for: Agricultural, industrial, and chemical customers receiving bulk and distributing in bags.

Dry & Cold Storage

Through our sister company Springfield Underground, customers can access large-scale dry or temperature-controlled storage integrated with transloading operations.

Best for: Customers who need to store product before or after transloading.

Railcar Staging & Storage

We hold railcars on our privately owned yard tracks — over 100 spaces available, including covered underground storage through Springfield Underground. This reduces detention charges and gives customers control over timing.

Best for: Any customer managing railcar fleet timing, multiple car sets, or staging needs around production schedules

Bulk Conveyor Handling

Our conveyor systems move high volumes of dry bulk product efficiently between railcars and trucks. This reduces handling time and labor for appropriate commodity types.

Best for: Grain, feed, salt, aggregate, plastic pellets, and similar free-flowing dry bulk commodities.
