How We Handle Product

Rail-to-Truck Transloading

Products arrive by rail and are transferred into trucks for regional delivery. This helps customers use the cost benefits of rail while still reaching destinations that are not directly rail-served.

Bulk Conveyor Handling

For dry bulk commodities, Umlaut uses conveyor equipment to support efficient railcar loading and unloading. This is commonly used for products such as salt, grain, feed ingredients, plastic pellets, peas, chickpeas, beans, flax, and millet.

Truck-to-Rail Loading

Products can also move from truck into railcars for longer-distance shipment. This gives customers another option when rail is the better fit for volume, distance, or cost.
